Market Insights

The pyrolysis process is being used in more and more resource-saving and environmentally friendly recycling processes, e.g. in the production of anode material for electromobility, the production of recovered carbon black  and the recycling of spent batteries or plastic waste.

In addition, saving CO2 emissions in this process is becoming increasingly important, especially for organic raw materials. A path is being taken from pure disposal to the production of a recyclable raw material with a green footprint. As raw material prices continue to rise, these technologies are becoming not only an environmental alternative, but also an economic one. This trend is likely to be reinforced by the German parliament's decision to amend the Recycling Management Act, as well as the public's increased environmental awareness, which is holding companies accountable for their environmental footprint.

As with most products and new production processes that cross this threshold, the new role leads to stricter requirements for rCB quality, plant throughput and security of supply. This means that for modern production facilities, reliable partners and suppliers are needed. In terms of investment in equipment, this leads to a shift towards higher CAPEX and lower OPEX.

ONEJOON Pyrolysis Process

Pyrolysis describes a thermo-chemical conversion process in which organic compounds are decomposed at high temperatures and in the absence of oxygen. In industry, the process is being further developed for the energetic or material recycling of organic waste, among other things. For example, the recovery of energy from plastics and oil from used tyres is a frequently explored field of waste management.
