Bimetal saw bands are composed of two different materials: The backing material and the cutting material.
While the backing material should have a high flexibility, the cutting material must be hard and wear-resistant.
When hardening and tempering saw bands, these different properties are achieved by the following process steps:

This system includes a band welding fixture and a pneumatic shear to trim the band ends before welding.
