Student Intern (m/f/d) Project Work: Siemens PLC Library Process & Testing with PLCSIM

Do you want to do more than just code—do you want to make systems stable and maintainable? Here, you’ll bring structure to existing libraries.

Your responsibilities

  • Analysis of the existing PLC library (structure, interfaces, quality)
  • Identification of weaknesses and areas for improvement
  • Development of a standardized library process (versioning, releases, workflows)
  • Creation of checklists and definition of done for modules
  • Design and implementation of automated tests using PLCSIM
  • Development of test suites and test cases for key modules
  • Execution of a pilot release, including documentation and test report

What you need to bring

  • Relevant degree programs:
    • Automation Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Mechatronics
  • Proficiency in TIA Portal
  • Structured approach to work
  • Interest in quality assurance

Project Objective

Convert the existing Siemens library inventory into a clean, repeatable process: clear rules for changes and releases, stable interfaces, traceable versions—and an automated test framework (test suites) using PLCSIM.
