Industrial furnace construction—a forward-looking industry that leaves no one indifferent. After all, heat treatment is a critical requirement for numerous products, such as carbon fibers, electric vehicle batteries, and (razor) blades. ONEJOON develops the furnace and process technology needed for these applications. Over 125 years of experience in industrial furnace construction, precise engineering and design work, and the spirit of a down-to-earth plant manufacturer set us apart. As a global technology leader, we are represented at 10 locations in 6 countries worldwide. The #onejoonfamily comprises nearly 400 employees worldwide, 200 of whom are based at two locations in Germany, where they perform a wide range of tasks in a dynamic and forward-looking environment.
What does that mean exactly?
Want to do more than just understand IoT—want to implement it yourself? Here, you’ll connect machines, data, and visualization into a fully functional system.
Your responsibilities
- Connecting machines via OPC UA
- Setting up Node-RED flows
- Implementing edge logic
- Creating dashboards
- Structuring data models
- Optional: Implementing simple web or Siemens Unified interfaces
What you need to bring
- Degree in (Technical) Computer Science / Automation Engineering, Business Informatics (with a technical focus)
- Basic understanding of:
- Networks / Communication (e.g., OPC UA, TCP/IP)
- Programming or scripting
- Interest in IoT, edge computing, and industrial digitalization
- Important: You’re eager to actually make things work—not just plan them in theory

General conditions
- 10–20 hours per week
- Start date to be arranged
- Bovenden / Partial remote work possible
Project Objective
The end result is a working prototype:
Machine data → Processing → Visualization
You’ll actively help build a foundation that will later be used in real-world projects.
