Aim of the work:
When strip steels are quenched and tempered, they are subjected to heat treatment. In order for the transport equipment to work effectively and furnace internals to remain in use longer, cleaning of the strip steels is necessary. Cleaning removes preservatives from the strip steel and prevents smearing and carburizing effects. The cleaning is carried out with the aid of a strip cleaning system.
For this purpose, a test rig for wet cleaning has been developed and set up in a previous student project.
In this thesis, basic research is to be carried out on the effects of various cleaning agents on oils during the quenching and tempering process. Furthermore, different cleaning agents are to be considered for their possible use with regard to cleaning and subsequent corrosion of the strip steels. On the basis of these results, a test setup is to be planned and implemented with the existing test rig in order to carry out practical tests with different test materials.
