What does that mean for you?

The aim of the thesis is to model a pyrolysis process in a rotary kiln by 3-D printing. The main components are the product feed, rotary kiln, cooling drum, afterburner chamber and connecting piping. The models are transferred into a format that is commonly used for 3-D printing.

The thesis can be roughly divided into 3 areas:

  1. Concept phase: modeling in CAD
  2. Implementation phase: Creating models on the 3-D printer
  3. Model construction: Assembling individual models to create an overall model

*Conceptualization of the process can also be worked on separately from the thesis as part of an employment as a working student (m/f/d).

  • good communication skills, a high capacity for teamwork but also high resilience, flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Organizational skills and goal-oriented, structured way of working
  • previous knowledge in the field of 3D printing is desirable but not mandatory
  • Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
