What does that mean for you?
The aim of the thesis is to develop a superheater stage as a downstream component for cracking the long-chain hydrocarbons contained in the pyrolysis gas. This will be installed downstream of the test rotary kiln and is intended to heat the pyrolysis gas to approx. 1,200°C.
The work can be roughly divided into 3 areas:
- Concept phase: here, the superheater is to be dimensioned in terms of its thermal output. In addition to a suitable heating system, suitable insulating materials and tube materials must also be selected for this application.
- Implementation phase: This comprises the construction and implementation on the existing furnace process.
- Test phase: During the test phase, the effectiveness of the superheater should also be tested.
*Conceptual design of the process can also be worked on separately from the thesis as part of an employment as a working student (m/f/d).
