Improvement of the electric melting furnace according to Prof. Nernst
1903
"You could invent something new every day" [2].
True to this motto of company founder Ernst Ruhstrat, the high-temperature furnace first built in 1896 was also further developed. Instead of the previously used tubular heating element, a "heating element consisting in part of a helical coal strip" [1] was to be used in order to obtain a higher internal resistance for better heating performance.
Unfortunately, we do not know if this innovation was successful in the market. If you have older depictions (drawings, photographs, illustrations, etc.) or additional information that you can provide, we would appreciate your contacting us.
However, we are still innovative today - visit our in-house test centers and work with us to develop your new products, equipment and processes for your heat treatment needs.
