From small electrical store to global player

"You could invent something new every day" - Our founder Ernst Ruhstrat

This saying could often be heard from our founder Ernst Ruhstrat. Born on October 10, 1863 as the son of Dr. Adolf Wilhelm Conrad Ruhstrat, a physicist in Göttingen, who had recognized the effect of electromagnetism on human life at an early age and used electricity in his medical practice, he learned to work with electrotechnical apparatus from a young age. No wonder Ernst trained as a mechanic. [1]

The motto of our founder is still an important part of our corporate philosophy today and embodies our innovative strength to continuously discover new market segments and market niches that we can serve with our industrial furnace systems as well as the associated process technology.

This continuous market orientation enables us to offer high-quality as well as innovative products and processes that inspire our customers.

We look back on 125 years of experience in the manufacture of customized high-temperature industrial furnaces, which are used for the heat treatment of a wide variety of materials and whose range of application is in the most diverse industries.

Come with us on an exciting journey into the past

From corporate change to high-quality engineering to impressive personalities

Beginning under the name Ruhstrat, Adolf and Ernst Ruhstrat developed the first resistance-heated high-temperature furnace in 1896 in cooperation with the later Nobel Prize winner Prof. Walther Nernst  as well as Prof. Gustav Tammann from the University of Göttingen. This furnace reached temperatures of up to 3,000 °C. Just two years later Ruhstrat received commercial orders for the development and construction of customized high-temperature industrial furnaces.

As a result of a split-up of individual business units, Ruhstrat GmbH was fully taken over by Eisenmann AG, based in Böblingen, in 2011. Since then, we have developed and manufactured high-temperature industrial furnace systems under the company name Eisenmann Thermal Soutions, whose areas of application lie in a wide variety of industries. In 2019, the Eisenmann Group and individual business areas, including Thermal Solutions, got into financial difficulties and ultimately into insolvency proceedings.

Since the acquisition of Eisenmann Thermal Solutions in January 2020, all operations in Germany, Poland, USA and China are now subsidiaries of ONEJOON Group. The parent company ONEJOON Co., Ltd. is a mechanical engineering company based in Suwon, South Korea, whose primary market is the production of high temperature furnace systems including the required material handling and process technology for the treatment of cathode and anode material in lithium-ion batteries.

Today and under our new name ONEJOON, our experts are developing solutions for demanding thermal processes in order to get the best properties out of high-performance and lightweight materials. With over 1000 delivered furnace plants, we enable the most diverse processes in the temperature range from 100 °C to 3,000 °C, worldwide. In addition to the optimal mapping of the thermal processes, the efficient integration of the furnaces into the production process is a top priority.
