“众所周知,哥廷根工业界一直非常重视与大学的密切合作,并根据讲师的指导研制了大量仪器,这些仪器现在遍布世界各地的科学实验室和研究所”。[1]

甚至在公司成立之初,鲁斯特拉特兄弟就与哥廷根大学开展了合作。他们与后来的诺贝尔奖获得者Walther Nernst教授共同开发了用于熔化金属的电加热高温熔炉,该熔炉最早建于1896年,后来由“德国冶金学的老大师”Gustav Tammann教授进一步开发:

"塔曼枢密院委员在建造高温熔炉的过程中向Ruhstrat公司及其姊妹公司Elektroschaltwerk-A.-G.公司提出了建议,从而赢得了特别的荣誉。这些窑炉最初仅用于科学目的,尤其是金相实验室,但最近这些窑炉也被用于工程领域,最大可容纳150千克熔融材料"。[1]

正如这页哥廷根工人协会(Göttinger Werke Association)的宣传册所示,作为“电坩埚熔炼炉”提供的窑炉有多种设计 [2]

我们所掌握的最早的塔门曼熔炉是20世纪20年代的产品。
